Dear Readers,
Welcome to my online journal!
I started this project when I was seventeen, and from a series of brief postcards, this is the result of that twelve-year evolution. Those who have read along throughout those years have gotten to know me pretty well, but you can tag along any time. If you're curious to find out what it's like to be a nomadic classical musician, a violinist, a 28-year-old, a modern instrumental troubadour, or just a woman looking at the world around her, you've come to the right place.
For the '08-'09 season, I'll be recording in England and Germany, touring Asia with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, hitting Japan with singer-songwriter Josh Ritter, performing recitals with pianist Valentina Lisitsa across the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America (for my debuts in São Paolo, Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo, and Buenos Aires), premiering and recording a new violin concerto by American composer Jennifer Higdon, visiting my alma mater The Curtis Institute of Music, and playing with orchestras in Switzerland, Norway, Canada, England, Germany, France, Austria, Hungary, and all over the United States. Follow along here as the season unfolds.
